Please allow me to introduce myself to you. I appreciate your time to review my resume, and hope you will consider inviting me to share my Christian music and ministry with you and your fellow worshippers.
At age 17, I began playing guitar after developing a life-threatening illness which kept me at home and recovering in bed for many months. My Dad helped me to develop my musical talent by bringing home an old, used guitar. The book of Psalms tells us to praise the Lord with stringed instruments and make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Learning to play the guitar gave me the inspiration I needed to get better. Music touches people in many different ways. It certainly touched my life in a profound way. God blessed me with His gift at that time in my life when I had such a need. God answers our prayers.
Now I choose to serve the Lord with my God-given talent. I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and He has provided me with a talent that I am happy to share in serving Him. I choose to serve the people, who are the body of Christ, through my ministry. I praise the Lord through my ability to play my instrument, and hope to lead the lost to the Lord through my music. Many churches throughout the United States have featured me as guest soloist. In 1985 I made a commitment to Christ to play for youth groups, the sick and elderly in nursing homes.
If you feel my ministry would touch your membership, I hope you will contact me. I would look forward to performing for your congregation and sharing my music and talent, which God has given to me.
Some of the music I love most, and which congregations request most often are, “Holy, Holy, Holy,” “Power in the Blood,” “Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome in this Place,” “Alleluia,” and “No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus.” I play solo’s and also play with soundtracks, and I am happy to play special requests. May God’s grace be with you.
Sincerely,
Ray Cummins
